Jules & John
Our beginnings have their roots in rural Australia, where the challenges of farming our 200 acre property in extreme conditions encouraged us to find harmonious, sustainable methods of working with nature. We learned about regenerative agriculture and permaculture, and experienced first-hand how these methods created a system that benefited both the soil and the plants we grew, often thriving despite the harsh conditions.
In 2023 we made our way over to the lush green hills of the Clogher Valley, having bought our dream home that came with 4 acres of land. The desire to continue working with the land and to indulge ourselves in our shared love of beautiful blooms was a seed sown in our hearts, and so The Darling Flower Company was born.
We then spent two years growing blooms on a small-scale, learning the lay of our land and listening to the rhythms of the skies throughout the seasons. Here, the wind writes the weather; the graceful transition between seasons ebb and flow with the changing of the light. Spring brings tulips, daffodils, ranunculus and anemones; early summer opens into peonies and roses; late summer leans into bountiful harvests of dahlias, zinnias and cosmos.
In Summer 2025, we installed a commercial polytunnel for our annuals and began expanding our growing area with one big dream in mind - to become a commercial peony farm in Northern Ireland. Our first planting of nearly 1000 peony roots began in Autumn, and we’re looking forward to adding more every year.
We’re working towards our commitment to reduce the environmental impact in the flower farming industry by offering locally grown, seasonally harvested blooms to florists and flower lovers alike.
